George Chen, a native of Xian, ShanXi province—considered the cradle of Chinese artistic talent—was born in 1964. He graduated from Xian Academy of
Fine Arts in 1991, and later moved to ShenZhen in 2004.

Throughout his twenty year career as an artist, numerous pieces of George Chen’s artwork have appeared in regional and national publications and art magazines, including the two prize-winning ink paintings in the 2006 ShenZhen Newcomer Art Competition.
A longtime practitioner of traditional Chinese ink painting, George Chen has perfected his ink-splash techniques (泼墨) and developed them further by highlighting the dynamic motion of the art using the vividness of colors. He utilizes color contrasting to his advantage, articulating the dynamic balance of colors, to portray the liveliness and motion in his artwork. Chen’s artwork is well received in Hong Kong and other Asian-Pacific countries.
